Update: Kindergarten to Grade 9 Lesson Plan Pilot

Thank you to all of you who piloted our AHS’ Nutrition Services lesson plans related to food and nutrition for Kindergarten through Grade 9.

Our pilot and feedback survey are now closed, and gift card winners have been notified by email. We value all the feedback received and have summarized it in a What We Heard report. You are welcome to access the pilot lesson plans for use over the next few months.

Coming Soon: We are making enhancements, based on your feedback, to our Kindergarten to Grade 9 lessons plans. Changes include grade specific revisions along with overarching updates to better identify curriculum links. We plan to have the final lesson plans available on our School Nutrition website in spring 2025 and will remove our pilot lesson plans from this page at that time.

Materials for use in Grades 10-12

Upcoming plans include the development of food and nutrition related materials for use in grades 10 through 12 with applicability to courses such as CALM, Physical Education and Foods. We are planning to have Grade 10-12 materials ready for piloting in fall 2025.

In the meantime, please continue to engage with us through our Teaching Food and Nutrition page. Please consider registering with Together4Health to receive updates on a variety of AHS initiatives. If you have any issues with access, please contact: community.engagement@ahs.ca

Thank you again for your interest in and feedback on our resources. If you would like to connect with an AHS dietitian, please email: publichealth.nutrition@ahs.ca.
