In April, 2017 the provincial government announced approval of a new 200-bed continuing care centre and ambulatory care facility for Calgary. The project will be built on a 10-acre property in Bridgeland owned by AHS. Funding for the Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care Centre was confirmed in the Fall 2019 budget.
AHS and Alberta Infrastructure have been meeting with various stakeholders since early 2018. In 2019, the Project milestones included submission of the Development Permit to the City of Calgary and demolition of the Cross Bow building. We are continuing to work through the contractual process.
As the project progresses, we will continue to provide regular communications and project updates to the Bridgeland Riverside Community Association and other stakeholders. If you have any concerns or would like to know more, please e-mail us at community.engagement@ahs.ca.
