Since forming in 2009, AHS has been responsible for ground ambulance services in Alberta.
EMS in the province of Alberta has a long and successful history of using a blended model of health authority services and contracted providers including Non-Profit, Private, First Nations, Fire and Municipal agencies.
As agreements neared the end of their lifecycle, AHS worked with our partners to secure extensions for Ground Ambulance Emergency Medical Services with our contract providers. We engaged with service providers and Albertans to ensure that ground EMS services continue to provide safe and high quality service to all Albertans.
