It is with great pride and excitement that we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
This milestone displays our commitment, dedication and excellence in caring over the past 125 years.
Since established in 1899, the Royal Alexandra Hospital has been a pillar of support for the community, demonstrating innovation and compassion for patients & families.
This anniversary provides us an opportunity to reflect on the profound impact we have made in the lives of countless individuals, our community, and Alberta.
To commemorate this special occasion, we will be hosting an opening ceremony on May 9, 2025, via Zoom.

Caring for 125 Years
A special icon has been created to commemorate the Royal Alexandra Hospital’s 125th anniversary. The circular shape captures the continuum of care and the unity of the Royal Alex’s team with our patients, families, staff, physicians and community partners. The colours are bright, cheerful and optimistic, both a nod to the hospital’s past and future. We feel the image represents people coming together in celebration of this milestone.
