Compassionate care

Last year, I had the honour to go on a ride along with Conrad in a Paramedic Response Unit in Downtown Calgary. It was really incredible to see the care and diligence that paramedics deliver to patients every day.

My office had been downtown for many years, and we followed a route that I had walked hundreds of times. It was something to see how a paramedic looked at these familiar streets in a way much different than I had ever done - proactively checking to make sure that people were ok or needed help. Noticing the people that I would have passed by in my hurry going from one meeting to the next.

We went from one call to another, and each patient was cared for with kindness and compassion. I am very grateful that we have amazing people like Conrad who are looking out for us. Thank you!
