Patient & Family Centred Care Week

At Alberta Health Services, patients and their families are at the centre of all we do and every decision we make. We aim to improve patient experiences by embracing an approach known as Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC). We work in partnership with patients and their families in the planning, delivery and evaluation of health services through this approach. Driven by mutual respect, PFCC recognizes that patients and families are full partners in care and can offer us tremendous support and insight. But most of all, it places an emphasis on the human connection to be found in healthcare.

Join us from November 6-10, 2023, as we celebrate PFCC week at AHS. We have two webinars you’re welcome to attend:

Beyond the Walls: Partnering with People and Communities to Achieve Health

November 6, 2023 | 12 p.m. 1p.m.

The interactions we have with people in our health system represent a small part of their overall health and wellness. In this virtual presentation from Cormac Russell, he’ll talk about how communities and citizens are co-creators of health and how our health systems can be better guests in the lives of the people and communities we serve. He will give space for conversation about breaking down silos, advancing health through asset-based community approaches and how equity in partnership is key.

Patient Experience Virtual Showcase II
November 8, 2023 | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join us for four “snapshot” presentations (5 minutes each) about patient experiences, followed by two “deeper dive” breakouts. Choose what works for you! One registration, attend one, two or three hours of the showcase.

  • Recording coming soon
