Alberta Health Services has a strong history of providing health and mental health support to all refugees, evacuees or international visitors who arrive in Alberta. Regardless of where someone is immigrating from or the reason in which they choose to begin again in our province, we have the resources to support them.
For a newcomer, we recognize that the healthcare system may be difficult to navigate. As a key stakeholder in their care, your feedback will help us to remove barriers and ensure newcomers can access the relevant information on programs and resources they need to thrive in our province. Improving our current communication and processes will also enable you to identify a healthcare solution more easily for the people you support, leading to better health outcomes for all.
As the first point of contact for many newcomers, you provide the support and health services information that’s critical to our ability to ensure they receive the care they need when they need it. Like you, our goal is to provide quality, accessible care for every new Albertan. With your continued support, we can continue to make that happen.
