AHS continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in Alberta as we seek to care for and protect patients and their families, along with our staff, physicians and volunteers.

AHS strongly encourages all staff and visitors attending any of our facilities to mask, stay home when ill, and continue to practice diligent hand hygiene. Vaccines are a critical way to limit the spread of COVID-19. They are effective and safe for protecting our health, as well as the health of our families and community members. Our goal is to immunize Albertans as safely and effectively as possible.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) would like to hear from Alberta families about the COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 – 11 years.

At this time, the vaccine is approved ONLY for children 12 years of age and over.

We anticipate the COVID-19 vaccine to be approved by Health Canada for children aged 5 – 11 years shortly.

As we prepare for Health Canada approval, and subsequent rollout, AHS wants to hear from Alberta families about what information they need to help make the best possible choice around COVID-19 immunization for their children. The questions have been updated to reflect options we heard from more than 21,000 responses to our initial survey.

If you are the parent or guardian of a child or children between the ages of 5 and 11, please consider filling out this short survey. Results are strictly confidential, and will be used to inform our vaccine rollout for this age group, as well as information Albertans need to support this important decision.
