Conversations with communities are at the heart of AHS' engagement philosophy. Whether through informal chats over coffee or large group events, we believe that when AHS and Albertans work together we achieve greater understanding, and reach better decisions.

As we celebrated AHS' 10 year anniversary in 2019 we sought input from our valued partners and community members through seventeen Community Conversations, hosted in partnerships with Health Advisory Councils (HACs) across Alberta.

AHS' Advisory Councils also launched a series of Community Conversations in the fall of 2020 to invite communities to engage, share information or participate in training that reflects the priorities identified by the HAC and AHS leadership in their region.

In-person Community Conversations were paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, but AHS' commitment to engaging communities continues. In the first year of AHS' response to the COVID-19 pandemic (March, 2020 through March, 2021) more than 222 virtual sessions were hosted providing information to, and engaging with, more than 12,000 Albertans.

Conversations continue as needs are identified. Please see below for a list of upcoming events and conversations.
