As Canada’s population ages, greater attention, care and resources will be required to provide care to older adults. There are legitimate concerns around the quality and delivery of care in Canada today – but they pale in comparison with concerns about its future sustainability. It is clear by current trends, that more is needed to be done and additional solutions brought to bear to provide effective and equitable care to older adults.

The Innovation and Business Intelligence (IBI) department at Acute Care Alberta (previously under Alberta Health Services) is working in collaboration with envisAGE to identify and engage with high value innovations that can be evaluated and potentially adopted into the Alberta ecosystem. The ACTION™ Assessment is part of the work to bring together existing research, stakeholders' input, and existing/developing technologies to identify and validate priority challenges and evaluate technology-based solutions to address them.
