The Emergency Department at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) is the first point of contact when driving up to the facility, with the entrance located on the south end of the building. It has capacity for more than 50 treatment spaces, which is nearly double the space currently utilized at the QEII Hospital Emergency Department. There are also 50 public parking spaces available nearby.
The Outpatient Department can be found on the main floor in the northwest corner of the building. Situated directly across from the main patient registration area and adjacent to the pedway and parkade, patient movement through the department is designed to be streamlined and efficient.
Our furniture and equipment team has been busy receiving deliveries and installing furniture and equipment throughout the facility. A few of the items that have arrived in the last month include over-bed tables, overhead patient lifts, exam tables, baby-warming units, staff seating and waiting room furniture. Convenient power outlets for electronic device charging can be found in most public seating areas around the hospital.
