The Royal Alexandra Hospital has been a part of 3 generations of my family.

My late Aunt Evylin Serna, from Two HIlls, Alberta, trained to become a nurse in the 1960s at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and resided in the nurses’ residence. I believe is now the Community Services Centre. In the 1980s, I was born at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and named Evylin, in honor of her memory. For the last 3 years, I have been working at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the Adult Bariatric Specialty Clinic, which is located in the Community Services Building. My late Aunt Evylin, who was training to become a nurse, died shortly after completing her training and well before I was born, so I never got to meet her, but I often think about how she walked the halls of the very building in which I now work. In addition to this, my eldest child and my twin girls were born at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in more recent years.
