Edmonton Zone - Multicultural Healthcare Brokers (Oct 25, 2021)
On October 25, 2021 AHS leaders met with a number of representatives of the Multicultural Healthcare Brokers team to hear their input on healthcare services in the Edmonton Zone.
The Multicultural Health Brokers Co-op (MCHB) began 25 years ago to support Edmonton’s newcomers. The goal was to enhance the health and well-being of families, and foster their efforts at building community so they could thrive, and actively contribute to society. The cultural brokers are from immigrant communities, and know first hand the social, economic, and language difficulties that immigrants and refugees face.
The virtual engagement session was a wonderful opportunity for AHS leaders to hear from the cultural brokers on the unique experiences that their communities face when it comes to accessing healthcare services in the Edmonton Zone.
Thank you for providing your valuable input into the development of the Edmonton Zone Healthcare Plan. This project has now concluded.
