The World Health Organization (WHO) declared 2020 the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife. AHS is celebrating the year and the profession's historic legacy and continued role in our healthcare system.

The year also marked the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale. To build on her legacy, the WHO is challenging healthcare organizations to offer leadership and development opportunities through the Nightingale Challenge.

AHS has accepted the challenge and invites all nurses and midwives to sign up.

As part of the Nightingale Challenge, Practice Wise is offering a Leadership series to AHS nurses and midwives. Every month, a new digital session is presented sharing leadership tools, strategies and best practices. You can access the schedule and past sessions here(External link).
