Council Meeting - April 9, 2020
The Patient and Family Advisory Council had their first virtual meeting (via Zoom videoconferencing) due to the COVID – 19 pandemic. Council members were provided with an update on Functional Programming user group meetings, which were being rescheduled to September due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Council members will be invited to participate. Information was also provided on Advisory Council feedback related to the draft Design Objectives.
Council members provided feedback on a Patient Journey scenario of surgical patient. This included questions on the type of information that is important to patients such as:
- Pre-admission consults,
- Storage of personal belongings,
- Reducing stress during patient journey
These insights will help inform the patient experience process, as well as form a basis of understanding of further flow work that the Council will undertake over the next several months.
Work on the proposed new hospital in southwest Edmonton is on hold. Visit Alberta Health’s Capital Projects website for more information.
